Bens Branch Elementary Principal/ Campus Behavior Coordinator

Ruth Anderson
It is a true honor to serve as the principal of Bens Branch Elementary. As an educational leader, my mission is to foster a positive and inclusive environment where every student can thrive—academically, socially, and emotionally. I am dedicated to building strong, supportive relationships within our school and community, while ensuring that instruction remains high-quality and student-centered. Every child deserves our very best, every single day.
This year marks my 25th year in education, with 22 of those years proudly spent in New Caney ISD. Before stepping into the role of principal, I served as an Assistant Principal, Reading Specialist, and second grade teacher. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Houston Christian University and hold two Master’s degrees—from Lamar University in Teacher Leadership and Educational Administration.
I am happily married to my high school sweetheart, Jake, who is also an educator. We live in Porter with our three wonderful children: Reed, Emma, and Nick.
I am excited for the upcoming school year and grateful for the opportunity to serve the BBE family.

It’s a privilege to serve as Assistant Principal at BBE, now in my third year as part of this incredible school community. With 22 years in education, I’ve served as a classroom teacher, Technology Specialist, Instructional Coach in Houston ISD, and Assistant Principal in Aldine ISD. I earned my bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and my master’s in Instructional Leadership from Sam Houston State University.
At BBE, we believe all students can achieve at high levels when they are loved, supported, celebrated, and challenged—and that each grade level works together as a team to support every child. I take that responsibility to heart and am committed to helping create that environment every day.
My husband Brad and I live in the area, and our daughter Sadie is now a proud third grader here at BBE. Being both an educator and a parent in this community makes this work incredibly personal to me. I value student relationships and strong partnerships with families and I am here to support, listen, and work together to ensure your child’s success.

I’m thrilled to be starting my third year at Bens Branch Elementary and my 16th year in education! Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of serving in a variety of roles, including instructional coach, student success coach, media specialist, and math teacher. I began my journey in the small town of Woden, TX and have also taught in Nacogdoches and College Station before finding my home here in New Caney ISD. I have a Bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and a Master of Education from Stephen F. Austin State University.
My husband and I have two beautiful children, one of which is a 1st grader here at BBE. I want for all kids what I want for my own…access to the BEST education possible, and I wholeheartedly believe we have that at Bens Branch. Please reach out to me if there's anything I can do to make your experience with BBE the absolute best.
